Hello from the Loom team! As founders of Loom Labs, where we build AI/ML solutions for industry, we've witnessed firsthand how rapidly technology is transforming every profession. Yet we've also seen a troubling gap—schools and universities aren't keeping pace with these changes, and even working professionals struggle to make AI work for them.

That's why we created Loom Academy. We believe the next generation deserves better than outdated curricula and abstract theory. Through personalised one-on-one tutoring, we're teaching students and professionals the practical AI skills they need to thrive—not in some distant future, but right now.

Our Story

As the founders of Loom Academy, we've always been passionate about learning. After doing well in academia and building successful careers, we jumped into AI/ML in the mid-2010s just as things were really taking off. This led to great success with Loom Labs, our AI consulting company, where we help businesses solve real problems with AI.

But throughout our journey, we've always found deep joy in teaching. What started as helping our nieces, nephews, and cousins with homework grew into something more—we discovered we loved sharing what we knew and getting them excited about science, technology, and art.

As our informal tutoring grew, friends kept saying we should start a tutoring business. We always laughed it off—there are already tons of math and physics tutoring companies out there. But then we noticed something troubling: while working with our clients, we saw a huge gap in AI understanding across industries. Even smart, talented professionals struggled to grasp and use AI effectively. We realised that if working professionals were having a hard time, what chance did students have?

We knew we could help, so why not step up?

That's when Loom Academy was born. We wanted to create a place where learning is tailored to each person—whether they're a high school student or someone already working—where everyone gets the personal attention they need to succeed. Because we work with AI every day in our consulting business, we know exactly what's happening now and what skills people actually need.
